  • Kehillat Psifas a Berman affiliate is looking for a few new young families. Psifas is a group of about 30 families, from diverse backgrounds dedicated to deepening their Jewish identity through study of Jewish and Israeli texts, celebrating Shabbat and chagim together, and engaging in tiyulim and other social activities.   • Restarting after the chagim- Beit Midrash Nishmat Chaya. Shiurim will resume on Tuesday 29th October ל' תשרי at 20.00 (note new time). Rav Yeshayahu Lindenbaum will continue his series "Where Halacha and Modernity Meet" discussing issues relevant to the 21st century. The shiurim are in English, with Hebrew sources.
  • בית מדרש "נשמת חיה". השיעורים בבית המדרש יתחדשו בע"ה ביום שלישי ל' תשרי 29.10.19 בשעה 20.00 תחת הכותרת "כשההלכה והמודרניות נפגשים" הרב ישעיהו לינדנבאום נותן את השיעורים ואנו מצפים לשנה נוספת של לימוד מעמיק ומרתק בנושאים רלוונטיים למאה ה-21. השיעורים ניתנים באנגלית, אך המקורות דורשים ידע בסיסי בעברית.

For the Chagim:

  • The BM minyan is now closed for women's seats for Rosh Hashana, and additional women who sign up for this minyan will be re-assigned to the MAIN minyan.
  • Please note that purchased seats in the Library Minyan will not be assigned specific locations. Seats will be available on a first come first serve basis, but all those who reserved seats in this minyan will be seated.

  • High holiday seats and membership renewal. Deadline for seat reservations Sept 12th. 85% of members have already responded.   • Hosts needed for Shabbat meals for young adult MASA volunteers. MASA is a program which brings young undergrads from English speaking countries to Israel. Throughout the school year, these young men and women will be teaching in schools and will be immersed into Israeli society. One of the program's many goals is to strengthen their connection with the wider community, and being hosted for Shabbat meals can be a great way to fulfill that goal. In Rehovot there are six participants who are living in the city center.   • ESRA Rehovot and Rishon Lezion branches launch their joint program and invite you to their gala opening event, “A Wine Tasting and Workshop,” given by The Jerusalem Vineyard Winery's chief winemaker, Sam Soroka. Sam has many years of experience having made wine in France, Australia, Canada, the United States and Israel. He has been a major influence in upgrading standards and wine qualities in the largest and leading wineries in Israel. The Winery is a reincarnation of the Samson Winery, which was established at the beginning of the 19th century in the Old City of Jerusalem. The Winery was purchased in 2006 and was renamed Jerusalem Vineyard Winery (JVW). It is the only remaining winery in Israel's capital. JVW wines are marketed in Israel and world-wide.
