• **Simchat Torah davening: The following are among the changes will be made to Simchat Torah Teffilot: Hakafot will be truncated, the Siferei Torah will not be passed around, and everyone must follow safety rules and procedures set by the gabbaim. Torah reading will be limited to the standard seven aliyot for Simchat Torah on Shabbat (Kol hanaarim will be modified, without childen gathering under a Tallit), and there will be no additional individual aliyot, nor breakout into small groups. Yizkor, which may be said at home and does not require a minyan, will be shortened in the communal davening, and people who generally go out for Yizkor are asked to remain in their place to maintain distancing and avoid mingling (for details of changes to tefillot, see guidelines, below).
• תפילות בביה"כ בשמיני עצרת (שמחת תורה): בעקבות נגיף הקורונה התפילות יכלולו, בין השאר, את השינויים הבאים: ההקפות יקצרו, בלי ריקודים; קריאת התורה תהיה מוגבלת לשבע עליות לשבת/חג (ילדים לא יכנסו תחת טלית לכל הנערים), ולא תינתן עליה לכל גבר בנפרד בקצובות קטנות כבשנים רגילות; יזכור, אשר ניתן לומר בבית בלי מניין, ייקצר במסגרת הציבורי, ואנשים שרגילים לצאת באמירת יזכור מתבקשים להישאר במקום כדי לשמור מרחק ולמנוע התכנסיות (ראו את ההנחיות למטה לגבי שינויים בתפילות)

• Halacha guides: Like the High Holidays, Sukkot is a period rich with mitzvot, custom and ritual, personal and communal. This wealth is a reflection of Sukkot/Shmini Atzeret as Zeman Simhateinu, with a variety of colorful ways to serve Hashem. This year, to allow for social distancing, davening has moved to the area of the amphitheater. The Halakha Committee has drawn up guidelines to facilitate tefilla betzibur. On a personal level, because of Covid-19, many individuals have chosen to pray completely or partially be-yehidut (in the absence of a minyan). But they too would love to take part as fully as possible in many of the customs and rituals. To this end, Rabbi Aryeh Frimer has drafted the guides below which will hopefully assist congregants in navigating through the various issues. • As part of our shul's initiative to keep as many of us in touch as possible during these socially distanced times, Stephen Simpson will be moderating a current affairs Zoom channel. A suggested starting point for the evening's discussion will be: "Where to draw the line in a free society when there might be a need to suspend certain freedoms in order to fight an unseen enemy. If the enemy was more tangible might we pull together better to beat it?" The first meeting will take place next Thursday Oct 15 at 20:00. Zoom details on the live calendar.
• Weekday Shacharit continues daily at 6:30 AM, followed by Daf Yomi shiur, all outside. Mincha, followed by Maariv nightly at the Yekev (Hanassi Harishon), times on the updated shul calendar.

Additional non-affiliated minyan:

• Minyan between Meltzer 7 and Melzer 7a. Shaded venue. At night, mincha starts roughly 10 minutes after candle lighting and in the morning at 7:30. All are welcome, both men and women. We plan on finishing at about 9:30-10:00, depending on the number of people attending.
