SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

  • Yizkor. On the last day of Pesach, we will not be reading names of deceased shul members. Rather, to honor their memory, we have posted a list of the deceased who were members at the time of their passing, which can be seen here (women) and here (men), and on the Noticeboard. 
  • From the President and the Board. As all indicators for COVID are looking promising, we think we see the light at the end of the year-long tunnel. Accordingly, we anticipate resuming some things in the near future that we have not done for awhile – seeing the inside of the shul, regular face-to-face shiurim, kiddushim, and our traditional holiday celebrations. Stay tuned! We look forward to once again seeing those of you - young and old - who have stayed away during the past year. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have helped us meet our spiritual needs and maintaining our sense of community and our good health. Full and proper acknowledgement will come at the AGM (set for 22 May, mark your calendars) but at this time we would like to give special thanks to Emanuel and Pearl for their dedication and tireless efforts in running the Corona committee.
  • Mini minyan is back! Weekly on Shabbat mornings at 10am on the steps outside the yeshiva dining hall (weather permitting, since it is outdoors).

  • Yom Haatzmaut. We will be holding festive tefillot and other activities for Yom Haatzmaut. Details will be announced as soon as they are available.
  • Any shul member interested in running for a board or audit committee slot, please be in touch with the nomination committee: Shua Spotts (054 9573119) and Shmoiki Berkowitz (054 7754574). Minutes from the January 5, 2021 board meeting may be seen here.
  • Berman's kiddush substitute discussion group (moderated by Stephen Simpson) invites you to its weekly meeting on Zoom every Wednesday at 21:00. The topic will be announced in the calendar and on Facebook a day or two before. The Zoom link and the topic for discussion will regularly appear on the live calendar.

  • Beit Heimfeld. Annual לימוד ערב שביעי של פסח in Beit Heimfeld, the event will take place on Friday April 2 (10:00-13:30) at the Heimfeld shul, under green pass rules תו הירוק.   • The Rehovot Anglo Hebrew-Readers Group continues via Zoom to read the best in contemporary Hebrew-language literature. Our next book is אבא,בן סבתא דינה by Yosef Bar Yosef. This book, short-listed for the Sapir Prize this year,addresses issues between the secular and haredi population.
