• New date. Berman members are cordially invited to participate in this year's Tu B'Shvat Family Celebration, on Friday, 14.2.20, between 13:00 and 15:00 at the Colb Family Farm, located opposite Kvutzat Shiller in Rehovot. The event is being organized by Psifas, Kvutzat Yachad, and Dror Yisrael. We'll pick oranges to be donated to the needy, have picnics (bring your own food and ground covering), and engage in various activities (such as creative group games, art activities and preparing orange juice), all in the spirit of the holiday. Oranges can be eaten during the event, but not taken home. Since the event is outdoors, it's important to bring hats and water, and to wear appropriate clothes. • On Wednesday, February 19, be sure to join ESRA Rehovot for a presentation of great importance to those of us who are not getting any younger. Advocate Shavit Ben-Chorim will discuss the ins and outs of the Israeli version of the “Living Will,” the “Power of Attorney for Issuing Directives Regarding the Medical Care of a Terminally-Ill Patient.” Learn how senior citizens can settle all their affairs and give themselves (and their family members) peace of mind with the knowledge that they are properly prepared for the future. And find out just what “A Durable/Enduring Power of Attorney” is and why you should seriously consider having one drawn up for you (and your loved ones). Shavit will enlighten us as to “How can you take control over the day when you will have no control?” and “What should you do in order to prepare for the future – to live with dignity?” Shavit lectures on "Advanced Legal Planning for the Elderly," and has special certification from the Ministry of Justice for the implementation of a "Durable/Enduring Power of Attorney." The presentation is scheduled for 20:00, with refreshments at 19:30, at Havayot Schweitz, 1 Kronenberg, Rehovot.
