  • Mazal Tov to Tzipi and Arye Noy on the birth of a grandson, a son to their children Yael and David Noy.

  • Mazal Tov to our members Tsivya and Ira  Hammerman of Revava on the birth of their first great-grandson, a son to Cheli and Yarden Reiffen of Mevaseret Zion. Mazal Tov as well to grandparents Tova and Yosi Hadad of Moshav Avnei Eitan in the Golan.

Engagements and wedding:

  • Mazal Tov to Barbara & Jeremy Pfeffer on the marriage of their grandson Elad Shmuel Chaim to Michal Ekler of Petach Tikvah. Mazal Tov also to the parents, Avigail & Eyal Chaim and to his Aunt Michal Pfeffer as well as to all the extended family.

Bereavement and Memorial:

  • We regret to announce the passing of Zvi Kanner z”l, the father of our member Dov Kanner. The funeral took place on Friday Jan 22 in Beit Shemesh. Dov got up from shiva this morning, Thursday Jan 28th. He can be reached at 054-227-4000 or by e-mail to uncledovi@gmail.com   .המקום ינחם אותו בתוך שאר אבלי ציון וירושלים

If you have not yet done so, please log into the shul website (www.bermanshul.org) to verify that your username is working. In most cases, your username is your e-mail address. If you have forgotten your password, you can click on the 'forgot password' link to reset it. Please e-mail us only if the system tells you that your e-mail address is not registered. Once you succeed in logging in, please review your personal information here and correct it as necessary.
    • Please keep phone numbers in full international format, e.g. +972(54)1234567, +972(8)1234567, etc., since it makes it much easier for us to handle them using standard software
    • Please enter your full 7-digit Israeli postal code (lookup here) - the old 5-digit codes are officially deprecated
    • We are aware that some fields on the form are not 100% clear - please bear with us until we have worked out the kinks and decided how we want you to complete these fields

  • The shul Architect Committee is soliciting names of outstanding architects or beautifully designed shuls. If you have a suggestion of an exceptionally talented architect, or a truly beautiful shul please contact Jerry Kriger.
     
  • Save the Date. The Berman Shul and AMIT Chug Rehovot join to invite you to a fascinating lecture and visual presentation in English:  "Inscriptions on the Temple Mount--Eyewitness to Jewish History." Join us to see history come alive with Professor Jonathan Price, Tel Aviv University. Sunday, February 7, 2016 at Bermans. Professor Price, a specialist in the history of the Jews and the Roman empire, as well as synagogue inscriptions, earned his MA and PhD from Princeton University (See flyer on the Noticeboard).
     
  • Looking for new voices. The choir is currently rehearsing for a participation in our tefillot in a few weeks time, and would be happy to accept new (male) members - even those with no previous experience. If interested, please contact Stephen Simpson.

  • Rehovot Anglo Hebrew Readers meeting, Monday, February 1, 9:00 AM. The Rehovot Anglo Hebrew Readers meet at members' homes Monday mornings, every second week to read contemporary Hebrew texts. We are currently reading Etgar Keret's book of short stories, Tzinorot. Our goal is to help each other improve our Hebrew-reading skills and to bring Hebrew literature to English-speakers.
