Bermans balcony - Off-campus satellite Megilla readings

• Megilla readings at Havayyot (note that there are only nighttime readings!).
  19:30 - Reading for general public in the main hall (seating by families, candy bags and Megillot given out, with short skits and chidons at intervals in the reading. The readers are all Bermans members: Egoz Fox Kahane, Benjy Freedman, and Jake Miller).
  20:45 - 21:30- Juggling performance for families in the main hall [details here https://1002744702.wixsite.com/my-site-2].
  21:00 - Women's reading in memory of Chaya Tannor in the ceramics room (women only).
• Yekev (outdoors- Hanassi Harishon): Saturday night at the Yekev at 18:55, Sunday morning at the entrance to Hanassi Harishon 35 at 11:00.

• יקב. קריאת מגילת אסתר בליל פורים (מוצ"ש) ביקב בשעה 18:55 (ללא ערבית, יש לעשות הבדלה לפני כן). ביום פורים הקריאה תתקיים בכניסה להנשיא הראשון 35 בשעה 11:00.

• Purim Halacha guide. Purim this year this year falls on Motsaei Shabbat. Rabbi Aryeh Frimer (054-754-0761) has drafted "Berman Purim Issues 2024" to give some brief guidelines of how to proceed with Havdala and preparations for Purim on this Motsa"sh. There is also a discussion of a Zoom reading of the Megilla, and who may avail themselves of this option. Since Purim comes after Shabbat, one is forbidden to do Shabbat-forbidden work (e.g., turning on lights, driving to Shul, preparations for Purim, putting on make-up or costumes, carrying one's Megilla to Shul etc.) until one has said “Ata Honantanu” in Tefillat Maariv, or the five-word formula: “Barukh ha-mavdil bein kodesh le-hol”. One should not eat until a full Havdala is recited. Happy Purim.!!! The guide may be seen here and on the Noticeboard.

• The Kiddush organizers, workers, and sponsors do their best to ensure that there is sufficient food for everyone, and that it is evenly distributed. We understand that some of the kids might [over]fill their plates, either because they are bringing food back to their siblings/parents etc., or simply because Kiddush food is fun. Nevertheless, we have recently had instances of adults forcibly removing food from an unrelated child's plate and returning it to the serving dishes. This is unacceptable, both for obvious reasons of hygiene, and because adults should not be trying to "educate" other people's children. We do ask parents to ensure that their kids serve themselves reasonable quantities, and especially not take extra ice-pops that they don't plan to eat and that will only melt. Raanan and the Kiddush workers are always available in case of problems. Thank you to everyone for your cooperation.
• Matza baking. The Colb family invites the Berman community to bake Matza at the Hatov Vehametiv farm, Friday 19 April between 8:00 – 14:00. Pre-registration at colbpat@stc.co.il is requested.
