• Members in the news. Article about Bodner family Holocaust survivors, and a commemorative poster in their honor designed by granddaughter Tamar Bodner. • The Lone Soldier Center in Memory of Michael Levin is named for an American lone soldier killed in the Second Lebanon War. The Center provides various services to lone soldiers serving in the IDF, including holiday and Shabbat meals. Next Shabbat, May 5-6, immediately following Yom Hazikaron and Yom Hatzmaut, the Rehovot community has the זכות to make Shabbat dinner for these brave young men and women. As 50 soldiers are expected, we really need participation from as many people as possible. Please sign up to participate in the Google Doc linked below, indicating what you can make or buy and providing your contact information. • Our member Yisrael Levitt is appearing in "Divine Right", a play by Roy Doliner about the disputation of the Ramban against the Church in Barcelona in 1263, with Theater and Theology – a new theater company. The play, which is in English, is heavily based on contemporary reports of the trial and follows the Ramban’s defense of Judaism and examines his attitude toward belief, as well as the Church’s bitter internal struggles as it flexes its growing power in Spain. Each evening’s performance will be followed by a discussion led by a Jewish or Christian scholar. May 9th and 10th Dr. Hannah Davidson, a historian. May 16th and 17th Father Martin Kleespies, a Catholic priest. May 23rd Rabbi Dr. Nathan Lopes Cardozo. At the Khan Theater Jerusalem, all shows start at 7:00 pm. • The Rehovot-area Hebrew readers will begin to read a new book, כאלה היינו ‎, at its meeting, Monday, May 22.  This is a memoir by Mordechai Naor of life during the first years (1950-60) of the State of Israel.  A child of Rehovot, Naor tells of the early days of our city, when Rehovot was a moshav and the population was 15,000 souls!  Our group meets every second Monday morning at members' homes.  To join us, call Rosalie Brosilow, 08 949 4851 or 052 736 7760.
