• Mazal Tov to Jennifer and Max Schrutt on the Bat Mitzva of their daughter Talia Eden. Welcome to Talia's grandfather Richard Harris from New York, and Uncle Joey Gentry and cousin Julia, who came in from Denver. Talia will be celebrating in Israel with her community and friends, and will continue the celebration in Denver in July when she will speak at the Schrutt's [former] synagogue describing her successful aliya experiences.

• A Special General Meeting (SGM) will take place on Sunday June 25 at 20:00 (Maariv at the conclusion of the meeting- at aprox 8:15) in the shul to approve the financial matters listed below. All members are invited to attend. Agenda for the SGM: 1. Approval of the Financial Statements. 2. Approval of the Doch Miluli. 3. Appointment of Havkin Dorsman as our auditors for 2017 Statements. All documents for the meeting and recent board minutes are available (member sign in required) on the Members' only section of our website.

• ...and after the SGM and Maariv...stay in your seats for the Third Bellows Kahn lecture on the topic of "The Problem of Get (Divorce) Refusal in Israel and its Prevention using the Agreement for Mutual Respect". Sunday night, June 25th-  Maariv at 20:15, following the SGM; the lecture will start at 20:25.  Dr. Rachel Levmore will be discussing the Agunah problem in Israel, what the Rabbanut is doing about it and how this agreement can help alleviate the problem. The lecture will be in English (with Hebrew texts). For more information, see the flyer on the Noticeboard.
• Bermans is pleased to announce the opening of a Beit Midrash at Bermans on Tuesday evenings in memory of Chaya Tannor z"l. The Beit Midrash will consist of two ongoing shiurim, 19:30-21:30, starting on Tuesday June 27th, and will be open to both men and women. The first shiur will be by Rav Yeshayahu Lindenbaum on “The Meeting of Halacha and Modernity” in English, the second shiur will be Rav Chaim Talbi on Sugyiot Actualiot b’Halacha uv’Minhag (in Hebrew). The festive opening of the Beit Midrash will include two special events. The first will be a lecture by Oshra Koren, director of Matan Ra’anana and celebrated speaker, on Monday, June 19th (כ"ה סיון) at 20.00 on the topic “משה יוצא אל אחיו”. The second event will be a guided tour of the Bible Lands Museum in Jerusalem (right next to the Israel Museum) on  Friday, June 23rd (כ"ט סיון) at 10:00. The first part of the tour will be devoted to the special exhibition on Khirbet Qeiyafa, a city from the time of King David. Our guide will be Berman’s own Shifra Weiss, who was part of the team that excavated the site. Cost is 30 NIS/person (20 NIS for pensioners, students and soldiers). • קהילת ברמן שמחה להודיע שנפתח בית מדרש חדש בקהילה בימי שלישי בערב לזכרה ולעילוי נשמתה של חיה טנור ז"ל. בבית המדרש ינתנו שני שיעורים משעה 19:30 עד 21:30 והוא מיועד גם לגברים וגם לנשים. בית המדרש יפתח ב27 ביוני. שיעור אחד ינתן באנגלית ע"י הרב ישעיהו לינדנבאום "תורת חיים - מפגש ההלכה והחיים המודרניים" והשיעור השני ינתן בעברית ע"י הרב ד"ר חיים טלבי על "סוגיות אקטואליות בהלכה ומנהג". הפתיחה החגיגית של בית המדרש תכלול שני אירועים. האחד - ביום שני כ"ה בסיון תשע"ז 19 ביוני בשעה 20:00 הרצאה מאת המרצה הידועה הרבנית אושרה קורן - מנהלת 'מתן' רעננה, על הנושא "משה יוצא אל אחיו". האירוע השני הוא סיור מאורגן במוזיאון ארצות המקרא בירושלים (צמוד למוזיאון ישראל) ביום שישי כ"ט בסיון תשע"ז 23 ביוני 2017 בשעה 10:00. חלקו הראשון של הסיור יוקדש לתערוכה המיוחדת על 'חירבת קיאפא'  -העיר מתקופת דוד המלך. המדריכה היא משלנו, שיפרה ווייס, שהיתה בקבוצת החופרים באתר. העלות הינה 30 ש"ח לאדם (20 ש"ח לגימלאים, סטודנטים וחיילים). נדרשת הרשמה מוקדמת למוזיאון. להרשמה אנא שלחו מייל ל: david.tannor@weizmann.ac.il עם הנושא: סיור ארצות המקרא. כל הכבוד לשיפרה ווייס על יוזמתה לסיור במוזיאון ולאריה נוי ורותי דרורי על ייסוד בית המדרש.
