Bereavement and Memorial:
- We regret to announce the passing of Shulamit Shumar z"l, the mother of our member Sari Colb. The funeral took place on Monday, Sept. 7, in Tel Aviv. The family will be sitting shiva in Rehovot at 52B/35 Hanassi Harishon, on the 10th floor, from Thursday afternoon Sept. 10th through Sunday morning Sept. 13. The number there is 08-936-6955. - The Azkara for our member Udi Gilai z''l will take place on Tzom Gedalia (Sept. 16th) at the Rehovot cemetery at 16:30, followed by limud mishnayot in his memory at shul from 17:45. Mincha promptly at 18:20.
SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS
Rosh Hashana and beyond:
- There will be Slichot nightly (on weekday nights) at 22:30, until Yom Kippur (Maariv at 22:20). See the pdf calendar for details.
- Maariv on Rosh Hashana will be held in the main shul on Sunday and Monday evenings. There are no reserved seats. The balcony will be used for men's seating. The downstairs women's section will be open as usual for women.
- Please bring machzorim to all three minyanim, as the shul has only a very limited number available.
- As always, those attending the Main and Hashkama minyanim are asked to leave strollers outside the building. Strollers may be brought into the Beit Midrash minyan, but must be kept in the back of the room.
- Shofar blowing for those unable to attend tefilla:
1. For those who are unable to attend tefilla on Rosh Hashana to hear the shofar, there will be additional tkiyot in the main shul building and in the yeshiva library (the room below the beit midrash) at 12:15 on each day of Rosh Hashana. Please allow people to leave at the end of services before coming in, but please be on time, as those blowing shofar will not blow repeatedly for late comers.
2. If you or someone you know will be physically unable to come to shul and would like to hear the shofar, please contact one of the following:

- A combined Kiddush will be held for all minyanim in the pergola promptly after the Main and BM minyamin finish.
- If you reserved seats and will not be using them for either RH or YK, please send an e-mail to Jerry Kriger so that extra seats can be re-assigned.
- Volunteers needed to help set up the various minyanim for Rosh Hashana. Set up of the Beit Midrash for Rosh Hashana will take place this Saturday night Sept 12th immediately after Ma'ariv. Set up for the Hashkama minyan for Rosh HaShana will also be motzei Shabbat Sept. 12 at 21:00 in the yeshiva library. Take-down for both minyanim will be immediately after Ma'ariv on Motzaei Rosh Hashana. (Hashkama setup for Yom Kippur will be at 9 pm Sept. 21..details coming). We are a single community, though we temporarily diverge to three minyanim to enhance everyone's t'filla experience. Please come help (it will not take long) no matter which minyan you plan to attend.
- ...and,in addition, 3-4 paid [teenage] shleppers [still] needed for heavy lifting for the Hashkama minyan: The Hashkama minyan needs shleppers for setting up and putting away the mechitza, Aron Kodesh, and most of all the tables and chairs for the Rosh HaShana and Yom Kippur minaynim. We pay NIS25/hr; assume about an hour for each setup and takedown. Set up for RH will be at 9 pm on Saturday night Sept 12 before slichot and on Sept 21 at 9 pm. - From the Berman’s Zedaka Fund The Zedaka committee wishes to remind our members that the month of Elul is a most opportune time to donate to the needy of our city. Please be generous to those less fortunate, and submit your donations as soon as possible, so they can reach those in need in good time. - Host families needed for Parashat Bereshit. On Parashat Bereshit (10/10/15) we will be hosting soldiers from the "Nativ" pre-conversion course, who are at the end of their course. We are looking for 10-15 families to host them. This is the peak of the course and what motivates most of them to continue towards conversion. Most who are interested in conversion are זרע ישראל & it is a big Mitzva to help them. Please take part in this important task and host two soldiers on Shabbat Bereshit. - בפרשת בראשית 10/10/15 אנחנו נארח קבוצה של חיילי "נתיב". אנחנו מחפשים 10-15 משפחות שיהיו מוכנות לארח את החיילים בשבת. למי שלא מכיר את "קורס נתיב", הקורס מלמד על ישראל והיהדות ונועד לחיילים עולים חדשים או לחיילים/ת שאינם יהודים הלכתית. בסיום הקורס החיילים מתארחים אצל משפחות דתיות וזה השיא של הקורס ומה שנותן להם את המוטיבציה להמשיך לקורסי הגיור. אנא, היו שותפים במצווה הגדולה של "ואהבת את הגר" ועזרו ל"זרע ישראל" לחזור לשורשיו. כל סוגי המשפחות מבוגרים או צעירים מוזמנים לארח. לפרטים נוספים אנו פנו מידית! לאילנה פרידלנדר. אילנה: 053-5706592 stevenf@netvision.net.il.

- Refua Shlema to Sidney Grunebaum who is recuperating in shikum after emergency hip surgery following a fall in his home. Sidney would appreciate visitors at Naot Hamoshava in Nes Tziona's Power Center, located above Superpharm on the west side of the center. Entrance is adjacent to the BurgerRanch. He is on the fourth floor, Daled-2. A good time to visit is between 1 - 3:30, when he sits at his table. Sidney would also appreciate calls from those who cannot visit, 054-324-5247.
