While the shul will make every effort to disinfect seats before/after each service, it is recommended and appreciated if each person remembers to wipe down their seat, stand, and surroundings with a disinfectant wipe after use. For those (especially those who are in high risk groups) who are considering attending shul on chag solely for Yizkor purposes, please remember that it is halachically permissible to say Yizkor alone at home.
  • Tikun leil Shavuot. The schedule of shiurim (mainly outside in amphitheater), including shiurim for the youth may be seen on the Noticeboard.
  • **Eruv tavshilin reminder. In order to permit cooking on Friday (Yom Tov) for Shabbat - an eruv tavshilin must be made on Thursday Erev Yom Tov. One takes a baked item (generally challah) and a cooked food (e.g. a hard boiled egg, a piece of gefilte fish or a piece of chicken) to be eaten on Shabbat. One then holds the eruv tavshilin and recites the following text: ברוך אתה ה' א-לוהינו מלך העולם אשר קדשנו במצותיו וצוונו על מצות ערוב. בהדין ערובא יהא שרא לנא לאפויי ולבשולי ולאטמוני ולאדלוקי שרגא ולתקנא ולמעבד כל צרכנא, מיומא טבא לשבתא English translation of the Aramaic: Through this eruv may we be permitted to bake, cook, insulate, kindle a flame, prepare and do anything necessary on the festival for the sake of the Sabbath.
  • אנא זכרו לעשות עירוב תבשילין בערב החג ביום חמישי, כדי לאפשר הכנת אוכל בחג לקראת שבת.
  • Kaddish. As you are aware, we have reinstated our weekday morning minyan. There are however members of the shul who due to the Ministry of Health regulations or for personal reasons, cannot attend the minyan, among them people reciting Kaddish for departed loved ones. In consultation with the board and R. Aryeh Frimer, Daniel Schwartz is available to say Kaddish on behalf of people unable to do so at this time. Please email Daniel at cantordbsesq@gmail.com with the name of the person for whom you are saying Kaddish, and he will do so at the morning minyan. R' Frimer has also advised that in addition to the recitation of Kaddish, people learn Torah and give tzedakkah “l’ilui nishmat" the departed.
