Births:

• Mazal Tov to Jeanette and Ian Taylor on the birth of a granddaughter, a daughter to their children Noa and Yuval Lindenberg and a sister to Carmel, Nitzan and Naveh of Tzur Hadassah. Mazal Tov as well to grandparents Tzina and Gabi Lindenberg of Jerusalem.

Bar/Bat Mitzva:

• Mazal Tov to Naama and Emanuel Weisgras on the Bat Mitzvah of their oldest daughter Abigail this past Sunday. Mazal Tov to Abigail's grandparents, Yossi Weisgras of New York City and Toval Malichi of Bat Yam, as well as her siblings Daniel, Shira, Dana, and Noam. Abigail celebrated with her immediate family at home and with some friends in an informal gathering. We look forward to being able to celebrate with friends, extended family and our beloved Berman family in the near future, and to celebrate many more smachot together!

Engagements and Weddings:

• Mazal Tov to Tzippy and Arye Noy on the engagement of their grandson, Amichai Pollack, to Hadar Peretz of Elazar. Mazal Tov to Amichai's parents, Galia and Mottie Pollack of Rehovot.

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• Safety rules for Tefillot. Berman’s Shul has adopted safety rules, whether inside or outside of our building, based on MANDATORY Ministry of Health (MoH) and other regulations and precautions. These rules are not optional, and are meant to protect you and everyone around you, during Shul activities.
  *Everyone (excepting infants not in daycare) must wear a mask covering mouth and nose.
  *This includes children, who are welcome to join the outdoor minyan with a mask.
  *If you bring children, we ask you to be mindful of those members who may be more vulnerable, especially if they ask you to sit further from them.
  *Children unable or unwilling to wear a mask, should not approach davening areas.
  *Maintain a minimum distance of 2 meters between persons.
  *Bring your own siddur & chumash.
  *Disinfectant wipes are available – please wipe down your seat after use.
  *Please respect the instructions of the Corona Compliance Officers.
• כללי זהירות. קהילת ברמן אימצה מספר כללי התנהלות למשתתפים בתפילה, בין אם בחוץ או במבנה בית הכנסת, על בסיס תקנות החירום, צווי בריאות העם, והנחיות והוראות מחייבות של משרד הבריאות החלים על פעילות בית הכנסת. כללים אלה אינם אופציונליים ומטרתם להגן עליך ועל כל הסובבים אותך בעת השתתפותך בתפילה ופעילות בית הכנסת.
  *חובה על כל בן אדם לעטות מסכה המכסה את הפה ואת האף (חוץ מתינוקות אשר לא במשפחתון/פעוטון)
  *הנחייה זו כוללת ילדים בכל הגילאים, שמוזמנים להשתתף במניין החיצוני עם מסכה בלבד
  *אם ילדיכם מגיעים, נא להיות רגישים לאלא שנמצאים בקבוצת סיכון, במיוחד אם אתם מתבקשים להתרחק מהם
  *ילדים שאינם יכולים לעטוף מסכה כנדרש מתבקשים לא להתקרב לאזור התפילה
  *יש לשמור מרחק של 2 מטרים בין אדם לאדם
  *חובה להביא סידור וחומש משלכם
  *מטליות חיטוי נמצאות באזור המניין ואתם מתבקשים לנקות את כיסאך לאחר התפילה
  *נא לכבד את "נאמני הקורונה" המתנדבים.

  Shabbat afternoon:

• Horim, Yeladim, Pizza and Learning (HYPAL, but without the pizza) continues this Shabbat afternoon from 18:00 to 19:00, in a slightly altered format. We will meet OUTSIDE – in the areas of the amphitheater, the pergola, and the Yeshivat Hadarom lawn. All ages are welcome. Ministry of health guidelines need to be followed: each family must stay at least two meters apart from other families, and participants need to wear face masks. Plastic chairs will be available. Please bring your own books as the shul’s library will not be accessible.
• תוכנית הורים, ילדים, פיצה ולימוד (ללא פיצה) ממשיכה בשבת בחוץ (באמפיתיאטרון, תחת הפרגולה ועל הדשא), בין 18:00-19:00. כל הגילאים מוזמנים. יש לציית להוראות משרד הבריאות: שמירת מרחק של 2 מטרים בין משפחות, ועטית מסכות. כסאות מפלסטיק יהיו זמינים, אך כולם מתבקשים להביא ספרים מהבית כי לא תהיה נגישות לספריית ביה"כ.
• Shul life without shul. Owing to the totally new situation we all find ourselves in and the inability of many of us to attend regular shul services, we are facilitating a forum this Motsei Shabbat at 21:00 to discuss what we are experiencing, missing, expecting and how we are coping during this prolonged period when our weekly shot of tefilla, camaraderie and information (global, national and personal!) has come to an abrupt stop! The discussion will be moderated by Stephen Simpson and Daniel Schwartz. It's not too late to participate! Please use this link to fill out a very short application form and to suggest any particular aspect of this new Corona situation relating to the Berman’s Community Center that you would like to share, suggest or discuss. You will be sent a Zoom link before the meeting to the email address you provide in the form. Please reply immediately or by this Friday morning at the latest (13:00).
• Kaddish. Daniel Schwartz is available to say Kaddish on behalf of people unable to come to shul. Please email Daniel at cantordbsesq@gmail.com with the name of the person for whom you are saying Kaddish, and he will do so at the morning minyan.
