Bereavement and Memorial:

  • We deeply regret to announce the passing of Sid Beer, z"l, the father of our member Leo Beer, and the grandfather of our member Ilan Beer. The funeral took place on Sunday July 3 in Rehovot. Leo will be sitting shiva at his home, 45 Hashomrim, through Friday afternoon, July 8. The number there is 08-945-9789. Davening times are Shacharit: 6:15, Mincha: 19:40, Ma'ariv: 20:10. There will be a t'fillat mincha on Friday afternoon at 13:30; after that Leo will sit shiva until 15:00. 

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS

  • Nechama Goldman Barash will be speaking this shabbat morning at the Parashat Hashavua shiur, as part of the Shabbat Dorshot Tov program http://www.kolech.org.il/lp/dorshot-tov16/. The title of her talk at Bermans is Jephthah's Daughter: martyr or monastic? Nechama Goldman Barash studied for three years in Matan’s Advanced Talmud Institute and received her M.A. from Bar Ilan University. For many years she has taught classes in Halakha and Rabbinic thought in Matan and Pardes. She is also a Yoetzet Halakha. Nechama is currently studying in Matan's Advanced Halakha (Hilkhata) Program. She lives in Gush Etzion with her husband and 4 daughters.
     
  • A request from our treasurers. When you give us a donation for the shul, please let us know its purpose, e.g. kiddush fund, charity fund, etc, so that we can correctly allocate the money. You can write this on the envelope, enclose a note, or write it on the check. Thank you!
     
  • Berman’s Summer Outing for adults, July 20th - Intimate (≤15 participants) tours of two exciting new exhibits at the New Wing of Beit HaTfutsot (the Diaspora Museum) with either an English or Hebrew-speaking guide -- including our own Joel Rabinowitz! See flyer on Noticeboard for details. 9:45: Meet at museum; 10:00 – 11:30: Guided tours; 11:45: Meet for lunch (not included in price) afterwards at the on-site Aroma Cafe. Price: NIS 20 pp (Please pay in cash to Susan Rubin/Omri Flicker/Sorelle Weinstein by July 15th).   • The mini minyan is seeking parent volunteers to lead t'efillah or give a Dvar Torah in the months of July and August, on weeks when our teenage leaders are on summer vacation. Parents are welcome to lead the t'efillah and give their Dvar Torah in English or Hebrew, in whichever language they are most comfortable. To volunteer please contact Elana Bogdansky at elanab121@gmail.com or 054-664-1339.
