• Mazal Tov to Kathy and Jeff Lowengrub on the wedding this week of their son Yonah to Dekla Aloni, daughter of Uri and Sigalit Aloni from Karnei Shomron.
• Mazal Tov to Aryeh and Esther Frimer on the wedding of their granddaughter Hadar Miriam Jacob, daughter of Avi and Michal Jacob of Mazkeret Batya, to Yoav Talmor, son of Moriah Talmor of Shoham. Mazal Tov as well to the Aunts and Uncles: Shira Frimer, Shoshana and Benny Dekel, and Nechama and Itai Saffer, and the entire family. • Minyanim – In addition to the 6:30 daily minyan, we have reinstated most Shabbat minyanim: For Shabbat Bamidbar: All regular Shabbat minyanim will be held. Early Erev Shabbat and Hashkama will be outside. Second minyan (Erev Shabbat and morning) inside. For Shabbat Mincha/Maariv both inside and outside minyanim will be held. • **Tonight** (Thursday) Zoom lecture for Yom Yerushalayim. This Thursday evening at 19:00 (note the time), Yom Yerushalayim eve, we will have a lecture about Har Hazeitim from Machon Megalim, the educational arm of Ir David. Sarah Barnea, a senior lecturer at Machon Megalim, will talk about the Jewish cemetery on Har Hazeitim from the War of Independence till the Six Day War. The lecture will be in Hebrew. • With gratitude to Hashem and with excitement, we are honored to invite the Berman community to a הכנסת ספר תורה to our shul, on Sunday May 24th, א׳ סיון, in honor of the memory of Michael Kaufman, Sharyn Strauss’s father and Barbara Kaufman’s husband, and in honor of Yehoshua Strauss’s upcoming Bar Mitzvah. From 5-6pm will be letter “writing” in the Sefer Torah at the Library of Yeshivat HaDarom. At 6 (possibly a bit later) the festivities of the הכנסת ספר תורה will begin including a couple of shiurim outside and light כיבוד (individually wrapped, meat). Due to Corona regulations, we will need to know approximately how many people are planning to come. Masks, and social distancing are required. • The Women's Shavuot Shiur that is usually held at Ellen's home will be shared this year on Berman's Zoom (details below) next Sunday evening 24 May at 19:30. The topic is "FORGIVENESS" and the speakers will be Bea Kriger, Shelley Schwarzbaum, Audrey Samuels, Rosi Langbeheim and Ellen Shankman. • Pre-Shavuot lecture. R' Aryeh Frimer HaKeter VeHaCovid: Corona Related Halakhic Issues Part 1: Tefilla beTsibbur, Keri’at haTorah and Zoom. Monday night 25th of May at 20:00. The shiur will be in English. In this shiur we would like to focus on three main issues: 1) Public Prayer and Mirpeset Minyanim; 2) Keri’at haTorah; and 3) Use of Zoom. • Weekly divrei Torah. Any member who wants to post an original dvar Torah on the upcoming parshiyot is invited to send it to education@bermanshul.org.

• Kaddish. As you are aware, we have reinstated our weekday morning minyan. There are however members of the shul who due to the Ministry of Health regulations or for personal reasons, cannot attend the minyan, among them people reciting Kaddish for departed loved ones. In consultation with the board and R. Aryeh Frimer, Daniel Schwartz is available to say Kaddish on behalf of people unable to do so at this time. Please email Daniel at cantordbsesq@gmail.com with the name of the person for whom you are saying Kaddish, and he will do so at the morning minyan. R' Frimer has also advised that in addition to the recitation of Kaddish, people learn Torah and give tzedakkah “l’ilui nishmat" the departed.
