Bereavement and Memorial:

  • We regret to announce the passing of Merton Rotter, z"l, the father of our member Lisa Levinson. The funeral will be held this afternoon (Thursday, December 3) in Milwaukee,WI, where Lisa will be sitting shiva. Her phone number is 262-512-1131.  Please do not call before Sunday. SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS​

  • **THIS WEEK** We are honored to have Dr. Yoshi Farjun lecturer on Tanach at Herzog College as our scholar in Residence. Dr. Farjun will give two lectures in Hebrew:
    **Friday Night (Dec 4) at 8:00 PM: שמשון והרקולס – מאבקו של המקרא בתרבות יוון (Source sheet is available on the Noticeboard).  
    **Shabbat (Dec. 5), following Mincha at about 16:20 PM: תפקידם של הבורות בעליתו של יוסף למלוכה          
     
  • Miniminyan is back in a new format. Looking for 9th-11th graders to lead the program. Two interactive sessions on "Tips for counselors"  will be held, led by Hila Galili. Please contact Yael Mishael if you are interested in working as a counselor, 052-8355309.

  • Volunteers needed to give Divrei Torah for parshiot in Sefer Shemot. Please contact Mechael Kanovsky.

  • Tevet Jointly Sponsored Yahrtzeit Kiddush. The Tevet Yahrtzeit JSK will be held on Shabbat, Parshat Vayigash (19.12.2015). To participate in the kiddush, please contact Rachel Schecter no later than Sunday, December 13th. Participation: 150 NIS.

HOSPITALITY and CHESED

Refua Shleima:

  • Refua Shleima to Shoshie Babkoff who is recovering from an extended hospital stay. The family would continue to appreciate help with meals over the next few days. Anyone who can bring over some food, should please contact their daughter Shani Babkoff at 050-931-8038, or Nachum Babkoff at 050-506-9436.

  • Tickets on sale now for "RAQUELA: The Birth of Israel" - a musical developed by Modiin Women in Theater. Performances on December 23 and December 24 at 8:30pm, and December 24, 2015 @5:00pm. All performances at Heichal HaTarbut (Cultural Center) 49 Emek Dotan - Modiin, and are for women only. "Raquela: The Birth of Israel" is a new Musical based on the life of a ninth-generation Jerusalemite, Raquela Prywes (nee Levy). The musical follows the story of Raquela from the years prior to WWII up through the establishment of the State of Israel.  Raquela came of age as Israel came of age.
