• Mazal Tov to Alison and Stevie Epstein on the engagement of their daughter Maayan to Carmi Ben Admon of Jerusalem. Carmi's parents, Sivan and Rabbi Dr. Mikael Ben Admon, are currently on Shlichut in Geneva, Switzerland.
• Mazal Tov to Shira Frimer on the upcoming wedding of her son Matan to Hallel Aron, daughter of Avital and Alon Aron of Nov in the Golan. A special Mazal Tov to the grandparents, Esther and R. Aryeh Frimer and Ruth and David Drory, and the entire extended family on both sides.

SHUL ACTIVITIES, EVENTS AND REMINDERS תזכורות, אירועים ופעילויות של בית הכנסת

• The Bulletin has received a copy of... a Berman bulletin from 1985, which can be read here and on the Noticeboard. Thank you to Rhea Israel for editing it then, and finding it now. As my high school history teacher used to say "the more things change, the more they stay the same".
• Maot Hittim. Pesach is approaching, and for many people the financial strain overshadows the joy of the holiday. Additionally, because of the current financial situation many people have had their incomes drastically reduced. Last year, we were able to reach more than 300 needy families to deliver food vouchers or cash donations. The remaining money was given to local welfare charities for distribution and food parcels. Through your kindness, we were able to provide many hundreds of local families with the basic requirements for the Chag. We would like to be able to repeat this once again, this year. Please help us by submitting your Maot Hittim contributions as soon as possible, and not leaving it until the week before Chag, when it is difficult to organize distribution. Thanking you as always for your kindheartedness. We take this opportunity to wish all our members a chag kasher v’sameach and a healthy year ahead.   The preferred way of donating is by credit card though the Berman’s online form (Engl. / Heb.). It now has a Maot Hittim delineation line on which you should re-enter your donation sum. Bank transfers: Account name: Jacob Berman Community Center, Bank Mizrahi T'fahot, Branch 434 (Rehovot), Account no. 514880. Make sure to specify on your online transferthat the donation is for Maot Hittim, and send an email to accounts@bermanshul.org with details of the transfer.
• מעות חיטים חברים יקרים, פסח קרב ובא, ולרבים ההוצאות הכלכליות של החג מהוות נטל שלא מאפשר להם ליהנות מאוירת החג כמו שהיו רוצים. בנוסף, בשל המשבר הכלכלי , ההכנסות של רבים נפגעו קשות. בשנה שעברה, הצלחנו להגיע ליותר מ-300 משפחות במצוקה לקבל שוברי מזון או תרומות כספיות לחג. בנוסף, תרמנו לארגוני רווחה שחילקו אותו למשפחות נזקקות, וחילקו מארזי מזון לאלו שנזקקו לכך. בעזרת נדיבותכם הרבה, הצלחנו לעזור למאות משפחות ע"י רכישת המצרכים הבסיסיים לחג, ואנו שואפים לחזור על זה השנה. נא עזרו לנו, ותרמו את מעות החיטים בהקדם כדי שנוכל לעזור לכמה שיותר משפחות ולבצע את חלוקת מארזי המזון לפני החג. אנו מודים לכם על נדיבותכם ומבקשים לנצל הזדמנות זאת ולאחל לכל חברי הקהילה חג כשר ושמח ובריאות איתנה! רבקה קרוננגולד, רבקה קראוס, גרי קריגר, וועדת צדקה.

• Looking for families to host converts! Some of them need permanent hosting families and others just need an invitation for the Seder Pesach. Also looking for a volunteer to help a convert in her studies towards her conversion, she is in a course in Hebrew and needs support to explain things to her in English.
